The rate of technological change in society is accelerating at an exponential rate. All students must have the required 21st Century skills to prosper in the new global economy. I am very passionate about being on the cutting edge of technology integration in education and sharing across the globe.
In 2016-2017 I have the honour of being 1 in 100 from Australia and 4800 globally to be chosen to be Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert. This is a very exciting program to be part and amplifies the work of many MIE’s use of innovative pedagogies to drive the effective use of technology to improve all students outcomes.
Here how Microsoft describes the program:
The Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) program recognises global educator visionaries who are using technology to pave the way for their peers for better learning and student outcomes.

Some tips for a successful application to Microsoft:
- You need to be driving effective teaching with technology in your classroom.
- You must be sharing your knowledge to your school community
- I would suggest you are sharing across social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook , Linkedin, Instagram) and collaborating with educators globally to show you are engaged in your educational community globally.
- Your application needs to be creative, multi modal and showcase who you are as an educator and how you collaborate and share your knowledge.
